Dinotropolis in Bluewater to open second 'satellite' soft play attraction

More dinosaur-themed soft play is coming to a Kent shopping centre.

Following the success of Dinotropolis at Bluewater, a decision has been taken to open an additional soft play area for younger pre-school aged children.

Dinotropolis, billed as a dino-themed adventure park, opened at the Greenhithe centre four months ago and has welcomed close to 50,000 visitors through its doors.

The attraction has now taken the decision to open an additional soft play area within the centre and is also is now taking over the running of Bluewater's Kiddie Karts, small cars similar in size to a shopping trolley, which parents can use to transport small children around the malls.

The main Dinotropolis does have a small dino jungle within it dedicated to children aged 18 months to three years but the second soft play centre will be smaller and cheaper to enter.

It is set to open for the first time this Saturday - February 16.

Initially it will open opposite the Disney Store in the Rose Gallery next door to Levis on the lower level. But as it operates as a pop up store the centre says it may move around Bluewater approximately every 6 weeks.

Adam Smith, Director of Operations for Dinotropolis explained: “We’ve been in operation at Bluewater with Dinotropolis for over four months now and have lots of loyal visitors who have loved their Dino experience with us.

"We have had great feedback too and as all good businesses should do we have nlistened. We wanted to provide an additional experience for our younger rangers to enjoy, especially for our under threes. The pre-school soft play will operate as a drop in so mini-rangers can visit anytime repeatedly throughout the day.”

A pre-school ranger who buys a entry ticket from the main adventure park will now also get access to this additional soft play facility too. But customers can also pay separately to just use the smaller soft play - costing £5 - and drop in for the day as many times as they like.

Eventually Dinotropolis also hopes to resign the mini ride-in cars, suitable for children aged one to six, to also fit in with the adventure park's theme.

Adam Smith added: “In addition to the soft play Kiddie Karts are an exciting new concept for us and eventually we plan to make them dino themed too again further enhancing the experience for our young rangers.”
