The Reindeer Centre Capralama Farm, Bethersden, Ashford
Opens Saturday, November 12
Get into the Christmas Spirit at the Reindeer Centre, near Ashford. There's a chance to meet a reindeer, Santa (including a gift for the kids) as well as walk through the 150ft animated grotto. The centre is open daily from Saturday, November 12 until Christmas Eve.

Christmas fun on the railway Peene, near Folkestone
Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13
There's miniature train rides to enjoy and the chance to meet Santa at the Elham Valley Line Trust Railway Museum and Countryside and Craft Centre this weekend. There will also be a Christmas craft fayre. The family fun runs from 10am and 4pm on both days. Free entry and parking, although there are charges for the museum.

Christmas lights switchon Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells

Let the festive season begin and take the little ones to the free Christmas lights switch party on at the Royal Victoria Place, featuring performances by Boogie Storm and last year's X Factor champ Ben Haenow. Come along earlier to see Santa arrive at 4.30pm, with his grotto opening at 5pm.

Fremlin Walk Christmas lights Maidstone
Thursday, November 17
Head to Fremlin Walk on Thursday, November 17 at 4pm to see this year's switch on, featuring X Factor band Yes Lad and singer Niall Sexton. To top the evening off, after the switch on there will be a Christmas market and food stalls.

Maidstone Museum
Youngsters can find out more about seaweed and its secrets at the museum in St Faith's Street throughout the winter. The exhibition, featuring a variety of different types of seaweeds and their sometimes surprising uses in everyday products, runs until next April.
