It's the final weekend for Canterbury's pantomime, there's some tempting train-themed play for tots and winter fun at a top Kent attractions.
If you're looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, here's some suggestions:

It's the final weekend for Mother Goose

Mother Goose, Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury

Running until Sunday, January 12

It's the final weekend for Dr Ranj, Ben Roddy and other cast members of this year's popular pantomime in Canterbury. There are three shows on Saturday and two on Sunday, with tickets still available for some performances. Book online here.

Are your kids mad about trains?

Trainmaster Kent sessions, Hartley and Maidstone

Trainmaster Kent is chugging into Hartley and Maidstone this weekend for more popular train-themed play sessions for tots. Tickets are £7 for youngsters, with discounts available, and the groups include ride-on trains, endless tracks and engines to play with, themed crafts, books and dressing-up. Come and SING! Day, Kent Music, Fort Pitt Grammar School, Rochester

Come and sing is the invitation from Kent Music which is holding a taster event for potential junior choir members this weekend. The event is aimed at children aged eight to 14 and is being held at Fort Pitt Grammar School. The try-out day runs from 9am to 1.15pm and will include an informal audition during the day. Dane Park, Margate

Tree planting and litter picking, Dane Park, Margate

Families are invited to Dane Park this weekend to join a community litter pick and some tree planting.

Events are taking place from 9am. Participants are asked to wear suitable footwear, bring gloves and if possible bags for litter picking. Further information on both events can be found by clicking here.

Visit the animals at the Rare Breeds Centre

Open between Tuesday to Sunday until April 1

The Rare Breeds Centre is promising lots of fun come rain or shine this January. Alongside all of the farming attractions if the weather is poor there are Meet the Animals sessions in the barn, the indoor Creepy Crawly World to visit as well as the indoor Play Barns for more action. And don't forget the Granary restaurant for fresh food!

Visitors are reminded to dress accordingly and bring their wellies - with plenty of muddy puddles to splash in! Learn more here.
