Betteshanger Country Park near Deal opens A Winter's Trail
Don't go into hibernation just yet!
A fantastic wintery themed trail has opened at a Kent park just perfect for families looking to stretch their legs and get the kids out in the fresh air around Christmas or New Year festivities.
A Winter's Trail has launched at Betteshanger near Deal.
Opening on Saturday (December 15) the event will run across the entire festive period enjoying its last day on New Years Day, Tuesday, January 1.
The trail follows the tale of Miss Hazel the hedgehog who doesn't want to sleep through winter. Instead of her usual plan of settling down for a five-month nap she wants more than anything to throw a party!
The table is set, the presents are under the tree and she's come up with jokes to entertain her friends but there's a problem - Miss Hazel can't find any of her friends.
Families will need to embark on the self-led trail into the forest, unravel the riddles and complete the activities in order to get her woodland pals back in time for tea.
The trail costs £1.50 per booklet and is suitable for all families but would most appeal, says the park, to those with children aged three to eight.
Booking is not required and you can collect your booklet from the cycle hire outlet anytime between 9.30am and 3pm.
Welly boots and suitable outdoor clothes are advised.
