Raise the Roof Festival in Canterbury with Dick and Dom and Mr Bloom

Children's favourites Mr Bloom and Dick and Dom are coming to a festival in Kent this weekend.

The Dane John Gardens in Canterbury is hosting the Raise the Roof festival this Saturday and Sunday (July 20 and 21).

The two-day event will also feature headliners Heather Small of M People, Toploader and Lee Ryan of Blue, together with Spice Girls and Abba tribute bands.

Cbeebies favourite Mr Bloom is coming along with his band and children's entertainers Dick and Dom are lined up for a Dick versus Dom DJ battle.

Other family attractions include a nerf arena, bubble football, dance, skateboarding, arts and crafts, circus skills and a performance workshop with the Pauline Quirke Academy.

There will also be street food, craft ales and gin and prosecco bars.

The festival is the brain child of Club Chemistry owner Louise Jones-Roberts and will raise money for Catching Lives which provides support services for the city's homeless.

Mrs Jones-Roberts said: “We want to create a couple of memorable days of entertainment for the whole family with a focus on providing money for the homeless through the valuable work carried out by Catching Lives."

Tickets cost £6 (adult) for a day or £10 for the weekend. Children's day tickets are just £4.
