After taking a break over the Christmas period in 2018 the theme park is brimming with Christmas cheer this year and a new event called Winterland Margate.

Organisers say there are laying on 'new fun' at the Thanet park for all ages to enjoy between December 7 and 31, with tickets to meet Santa now on sale.

Guests can expect dazzling fairy light walks, a winter market with festive food and drinks, yuletide crafts, free festive film screenings, Christmas trees, wreath making, and more.

A selection of rides will also be running during open days, including Double Decker, Gallopers, Speedway, Chair-O-Plane and Austin Cars. There will also be a special giant Snow Globe families can climb inside for an extra fee.

And those keen to bring the entire family along on a festive day out - even those with Santa paws - will be able to do so for the first time, with dogs also being allowed into Dreamland with their owners for the festive period.

Dedicated Christmas tunes will be brought to the park courtesy of Frosted FM which will be in full swing at the Roller Disco, playing Christmas classics from 1pm to 5pm on Winterland Margate open days.

Tickets for the Winterland Grotto Experience are now available for families to book. The walk-through grotto will include a variety of activities and photo opportunities for families during which children can make their own reindeer food to take home for Christmas Eve, see Santa and the elves in their workshop, take a photo with The Ice Maiden in the alpine-themed 'selfie zone' and receive a gift, which can be personalised, a photo and certificate to take home.

Grotto tickets cost from £22.25 plus a booking fee, and include access to the full experience plus all rides open in the park. The grotto will be open on December 7, 14, 21 and 22 and early booking is advised.

Dreamland CEO Eddie Kemsley said: “We are rounding off our best year ever at Dreamland with our best ever Christmas experience. 2019 has been an incredible year for us already, and we

want to give people an amazing festive experience that the whole family can enjoy again and again."

Winterland Margate is free to enter, and guests can pay to ride or buy ride wristbands in advance. The attraction will be open on December 7 and 8, December 14 and 15 and then daily from December 31 until New Years Eve. Opening hours are noon until 6pm, and noon until 4pm on Christmas Eve. It will not open on Christmas Day.
