The attraction has opened bookings for bank holiday steam train rides - where a private compartment for up to six people costs just £40.

But families will need to be quick to book their travel on board the steam hauled trains that take you through glorious Kent and Sussex countryside.

The railway is returning on August 29, 30 and 31 with trains departing Tunbridge Wells at 10.30, 12.30 and 2.30pm for the return journey to Groombridge.

Trains are departing from Tunbridge Wells West only for passengers booked in advance. High Rocks Station is closed and Groombridge only available to those arriving by train.

At Groombridge, which is described as a 'spacious station', passengers will be able to disembark, see the steam locomotive up close from the platform and enjoy drinks and ice creams from the station kiosk.

Organisers have described the last few months of lockdown as 'a very difficult time' but staff hope passengers will come and support the attraction across the bank holiday weekend to ensure it can run trains for the remainder of the year including the planned Santa Specials in December.
