Napoleonic Association of Great Britain to host battle re-enactment event at Hole Park Gardens on September 26 and 27
Give the kids an action-packed outing next month to one of the biggest battle re-enactment events happening in Kent.
One of the most colourful periods of history will be brought to life when the Napoleonic Association of Great Britain recreates the experiences of soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars.
Watch troops, including many on horseback, do battle involving cannon fire and talk to the actors as you walk through their fascinating living history encampments.
Napoleon himself, in the form of renowned look-alike John Horwood, will also appear on both days to lead skirmishes and re-enact scenes from this key period leading to the Battle of Waterloo, over 200 years ago.
The event takes place on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 at Hole Park Estate in Rolvenden.
The impressive grounds near Tenterden will be hosting cavalry arms skills, artillery displays and parades across the two days whilst adhering to all current guidelines relating to social distancing.
Visitors also have the option of getting even closer to the action by booking onto one of two daily tours which will share some of the most interesting parts including preparing canons for fire and tours of both the French and English encampments.
Admission to the event costs £8 for adults and £1 for children aged five to 16 and includes entry into Hole Park Gardens itself. The Coach House tea room will also be open during the event.
