Santa train rides in Kent 2017

He might be dashing through the snow on his sleigh come Christmas Eve but Santa will also be calling families aboard a train ride in the run up to Christmas.

The county has a number of stations offering Santa Specials for tiny train enthusiasts.

Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railyway

The Santa Specials are back and available to book.

Enjoy festive fun, meet Santa and his elves, enjoy some tasty treats and there is even a gift for the little ones and the chance to play in the snow!

Journeys to choose from on this East Kent line this Christmas include Rudolph's Romney Return, Elves End of the Line and Dasher's Dungeness Diners.

Kent & East Sussex Railway

Take a magical steam train journey to meet Santa this Christmas.

Tenterden Station will have a beautiful Victorian carousel offering unlimited rides for passengers while the festively decorated trains will carry you on the one hour and 10 minute journey during which you'll meet Santa and his elf helpers.

Children receive an age appropriate gift and teenagers aged 13 to 15 a box of festive chocolates. And all passengers are given complimentary refreshments in the form of drinks, mince pies and chocolate bars for children.

Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway

Take a special trip with Santa every weekend between December 2 and December 23 on the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway.

Fares range between £10 and £13, which includes the round-trip from Sittingbourne Viaduct Station, to Kemsley Down and back as well as the visit to Santa's grotto, a gift and refreshments.

The entire experience takes around two hours.
