Families are invited to join in the KM Big Bike Ride on Sunday, September 12.

Organised by children’s charity, the KM Charity Team, the challenge offers either a 50k or 100k route. Both routes set off from and finish at Betteshanger Park, near Deal – taking in beautiful countryside and coastline along the way.

Participants will get mid-ride refreshments, sportive photograph taken on the ride, electronic chip timing, and souvenir medal.

Families can ride just for fun or raise money for any good cause or volunteer group whether it’s a local PTA, community centre or major charity. Seventy per cent of sponsorship raised will go to nominated causes and 30 per cent to the KM Charity Team to cover event costs and contribute towards its literacy, green travel and road-safety work with schools.

Safety measures in line with government guidance on Covid-19 will include staggered check-in times and social distancing.

Check-in waves are between 8am and 10am and cyclists aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
