Where to pick pumpkins in Kent 2018

It's time to pull on those wellies and go get a pumpkin!

Kent has a number of farms now opening their gates to families - with almost all of them holding activities during the half term break too.

We have round up some of the best places to visit below:

Chilton Manor Farm, Sittingbourne

The family farm and shop has a good spread of pick your own possibilities just waiting to tempt you down into the countryside.

PYO pumpkins, apples, pears and quince opens again from Saturday, October 20 and everyday thereafter except Mondays. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm, apart from Sundays when it is 10am until 4pm.

PYO Pumpkins, Beluncle Farm, Hoo

The 40-acre family farming business has been opening its gates in the run-up to Halloween for PYO fans since 2010. Picking is taking place on October 16, 17 and 18 midweek between 10am and 1pm and then again on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21 from 10am to 4pm.

During half term you can pick pumpkins every day from 10am until 4pm and again on the final weekend before Halloween (October 27 and 28). Find the site at Beluncle Farm in Stoke Road, Hoo. There is free entry and prices for pumpkins start at £1. There will also be hot food and drinks available.

Pumpkin Moon, Maidstone and Rainham

This is the third year Pumpkin Moon has been offering a day out picking pumpkins and squashes. This year there will be more than 70 varieties of pumpkin, squash and gourd to choose from, plus fun activities, including a maize maze, face painting, story telling and pumpkin painting.

There are two Pumpkin Moon sites - at Old Chatham Road, Sandling, and in Lower Rainham Road, Rainham.

Entry is free, there is ample parking and visitors pay for what they pick but opening hours can differ between the sites. Picking is taking place at both Sandling and Rainham from Friday, October 19 until Sunday, October 28 ahead of Halloween. To get more details about either venue please click here.

Milebush Farm, West Farleigh, Maidstone

The West Farleigh farm is offering picking every day throughout the month of October.

Pick Your Own, Sevington, Ashford

The family-owned farm in Cheesemans Green Lane will be open to pumpkin pickers from Saturday, October 20 through to Sunday, October 28 between 10am and 4pm.

The venture raises funds for charity and this year 21 Together is the chosen charity along with Hamstreet Academy & Nursery School. Pumpkins are priced by size from £1 - £8 each.

As it is a working farm pumpkin pickers are asked to come with gloves and wellies. For additional details see here.

Saffery Farm, Selling, near Faversham

The tranquil surroundings at Saffery Farm are the perfect place for an autumnal family outing.

The farm is open to pumpkin pickers on Saturday, October 22, Sunday, October 23, every day during half term and then again the following weekend on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28.

Opening hours are 10am until 4pm, there is free parking and prices for pumpkins begin at £1. The working farm can be muddy so families are advised to bring wellies.
