On your bike this Sunday

by My Kent Family reporter

Riders aged 12 and over are saddling up for a good cause this Sunday (September 12) at the KM Big Bike Ride - and it's not too late to join in.

Cyclists are welcome to book their places online in advance or turn up and pay on the day.

Families are invited to join in the KM Big Bike Ride on Sunday, September 12.

Participants will tackle one of two circular routes; a 50K or 100K version, both starting from Betteshanger Park near Deal and taking in spectacular views.

Ride just for fun or to raise sponsorship money for any good cause from a PTA to a major registered charity.

Electronic chip timing will capture the results of the ride and a sportive photograph taken of each cyclist in action. Refreshments will be provided mid-ride and medals dished out at the finish line.

The ride is organised by the KM Charity Team, which retains a small share of sponsorship to help cover event costs and contribute towards its health and wellbeing work with schools. Nominated causes will receive 70 per cent of sponsorship raised.

Check-in time is from 8am to 10am - with the majority of riders setting off at 9am - and cyclists aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
