Mote Park play area and skate park in Maidstone now open
The play area within one of Kent's biggest parks and open spaces is now open again.
Mote Park in Maidstone closed its playground last August for a major refurbishment.
Work to the playground and skate park is part of a multi-million project by Maidstone Borough Council to revamp the popular parkland.
Other changes scheduled to take place include a visitor centre that will have new toilets, baby change areas and a new cafe, improved parking and new paths and roadways around the park.
An adventure zone to accompany the skate park and play area, which will include high ropes and climbing, is also to open in the near future.
The new skate park and play area, which has opened just in time for the Easter break, has a range of new equipment for different ages and abilities.
It includes slides, climbing frames, zip wires, a variety of swings for children of all ages, a sandpit and astro turf to make it suitable for its young visitors in all weather.
A post on the Mote Park facebook page advises visitors planning to come and try out the new attraction to 'allow extra time to park and play' as large numbers of families head to try out the much anticipated new attraction. The park is free to enter but visitors do need to pay for their parking in the park's on-site car parks. To learn more about the cost of parking click here.
The playground at Mote Park is not the only new attraction of its kind to open this week.
Leeds Castle opened its new play area and Adventure Golf course on Saturday. Learn more about that here.
