Where can I take my mum on Mother's Day in Kent?

Mother's Day is on Sunday, March 26.

Whether you're a dad or husband, son or daughter - if you're looking for a special and suitable place to take the mum (or mums!) in your life, we have a few suggestions:

Penshurst Place, Tonbridge

A weekend for mum is promised at Penshurst Place.

On Saturday, March 25 children will be able to craft their own gift and hand made cards in the Old Coach House during which mum can explore the gardens and its spring flowers.

While a bespoke Mothering Sunday lunch is being offered to visitors in The Garden Restaurant on Sunday, March 26 together with The Pantry offering a selection of cakes and hot drinks which can be enjoyed as little ones run around the neighbouring adventure playground.

Craft activities are included within the price of a standard garden admission ticket and available between noon and 4pm on Saturday.

Mr Bloom's Nursery Live, Orchard Theatre, Dartford

Mother's Day with very small children can be a tricky one if the weather is poor or sitting in restaurants for long periods of time is something they've had a lot of practice at just yet!

Dartford's Orchard Theatre could have just the alternative outing with popular family show Mr Bloom's Nursery Live coming to the stage on Mothering Sunday and Monday, March 27.

Featuring all of the much loved elements of the TV show, Mr Bloom Ben Faulks will be joined by all his gardening friends: Margaret, Joan, Colin, Raymond and Sebastian, the lovable Wee MacGregors, and not forgetting Mr Bloom’s trusty machine ‘The Compostarium’. You will also be able to sing along to all your favourite songs!

Leeds Castle, Leeds, Nr Maidstone

Treat your mum like a Queen with a visit to Leeds Castle on Mother's Day. Known as the Ladies Castle and famed for being owned by six medieval queens and Angle-American heiress Lady Baillie, it is the perfect venue for a Sunday outing.

Alongside everything Leeds Castle has to offer families there is Lady Baillie Afternoon Tea available in the 16th Century Maiden's Tower where for £19.95 per person you can enjoy a selection of teas and coffee, traditional finger sandwiches, freshly baked fruit scones served with Cornish clotted cream and Tiptree Jam and a selection of fine handmade cakes. For that extra special sparkle, add a glass of Prosecco for £6.00 or make it a ‘Pimms O’clock’ occasion for £4.95 a glass. Afternoon Tea is available at 2pm or 4pm pre bookable via 01622 767789. A small gift for Mum is included with all bookings.

Traditional Sunday lunch is also being served in the 17th Century oak beamed Fairfax restaurant between noon and 3pm, where for £39.95 for a family of four can enjoy a whole roasted chicken with garlic and thyme roasted potatoes, buttered Savoy cabbage and roasted root vegetables in a red wine gravy. Lunch is served between noon and 3pm to walk-in diners only.

A valid admission ticket to Leeds Castle is required to visit on Sunday 26th March (not applicable to evening dining). Annual tickets cost £24.50 for adults; £21.50 for seniors and visitors with disabilities (carer goes free); £16.50 for children (under 4’s free). Annual tickets are valid for 12 months so you can pay once and visit all year round.

Families of all ages are guaranteed to enjoy Disney's latest and long-awaited blockbuster.

The story of Belle, staring Emma Watson, who is taken prisoner by a beast (played by Dan Stevens) hits cinema screens nationwide on Friday, March 17.

The film, which recreates the cartoon original, could make the ideal Mother's Day outing for the entire family.

Port Lympne/Howletts Wild Animal Parks

Your mum will get in for free if you take her for a day at either Port Lympne or Howletts Wild Animal Parks on Mother's Day weekend.

Both venues are letting mums in free with a full-paying adult or child on Saturday March 25 and Sunday, March 26 and both have free craft sessions for kids too.
