Plan a bonfire night event at home with free downloadable pack from Plan Bee to keep the kids busy indoors

by Lauren Abbott

Families keen to ensure Bonfire Night celebrations do not go up in smoke entirely can make use of a free pack for planning a party with the kids at home.

Plan Bee, which produces primary-aged resources for schools and teachers, says with large bonfire night events now cancelled and a second lockdown in place, household-only events will be the way to both mark and teach children about the events of November 5.

Bonfire Night, which marks the evening in 1605 that Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators attempted—and failed—to blow up the Houses of Parliament, is likely to be celebrated both on Thursday and also at the weekend as the event falls on a 'school night' for young families.

In response to the government's change in the restrictions, Plan Bee has created and made available to families a free downloadable pack to help.

The activities are also likely to be welcomed by families once again faced with finding things to do which will keep the kids amused indoors through a second lockdown with darker evenings and more wintery weather also now replacing the balmy temperatures and fine weather of the first lockdown back in the spring.

The free Bonfire Night-themed resources are designed for primary school aged children and include craft ideas for firework pictures, quizzes, educational games, wordsearches and a number of illustrations for children to print-off and craft, paint or colour.
