Cake and dog show in Kent at the Great British Bark Off 2019 in Ashford

Combine two of your families big loves - cakes and canines - at a fantastic free family event at the end of the month.

It will be raining cakes and dogs in Ashford when LoveAshford hosts the first ever Great British Bark Off.

The event takes place on Saturday, August 31.

Organisers say there will be something for everyone to enjoy - including free slices of cake!

Does your dog have it what it takes to wow the panel of judges or are your baking skills good enough to win a prize?

The Great British Bark Off will get underway at the Bandstand in Ashford town centre at noon with live music to follow from 1pm.

Participants can register their family pet for the show in advance by clicking here or on the day and it is one dog per person.The dog show takes place between 2pm and 3pm.

You will also be able to tuck into some tasty treats from local food stalls and make a dog accessory for your pet at the Doggy Style stall with Made in Ashford.

Local food businesses will be contributing cakes to the bake-off where judges will sort the light and fluffy from the soggy bottoms.
