Easter activities for families in Kent

The four-day bank holiday weekend is almost upon us.

And whatever the weather there is plenty happening inside and out to keep you busy.

We've rounded up seven Easter-themed events taking place over the coming days:

1) Charity Easter Egg Hunt, Canterbury

The Kent MS Centre centre in Merton Lane North will have an Easter egg hunt, hook a duck games and more between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, March 31.

There will also be refreshments available. Pre-book at £4 each or £7 for two children by calling 01227 470876.

2) Dobbies Easter Bunny Breakfasts, Gillingham

The garden centre in Courteney Road, Gillingham is holding Easter crafts alongside cooked breakfasts from Good Friday to Easter Monday between 9.30am and 10.30am, costing £4.95 or £8.95 with a Lindt bunny to take home. 3) Easter celebration, Ashford

Celebrate spring with live music on the bandstand, handmade crafts in the Park Mall shopping centre and an Easter trail with a free chocolate egg for every child who completes it. Events run from 10am to 2.30pm on Saturday, March 31. Free entry forms from the LoveAshford gazebo by the bandstand.

4) Fun at the castle

The Kent Wildlife Trust will be at Westenhanger Castle with a variety of activities for children including making natural collages, learning about fossils and making a bird food cake between 10am and 4pm Saturday, March 31 to Easter Monday. 5) Easter at Brogdale

Hop along to Easter at Brogdale on March 30, 31 and April 1. Say hello to the recently-hatched chicks and other animals in the barn. Then hop along to join in the trail and bag yourself a chocolate prize. Visit brogdalecollections.org for more information and details on how to book.

6) Easter Egg trail

On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday the team at Mount Ephraim Gardens will be putting on a special Easter egg trail to celebrate the house and gardens reopening for the spring and summer season. Families will need to seek out the giant hand-painted eggs which will be hidden around the gardens. Mount Ephraim opens at 11am, entrance for adults will be £7 and £2.50 for children. 7) Spring into Easter, Maidstone

Celebrate new arrivals this Easter by meeting the lambs, goat kids and calves at Kent Life. There will be opportunities to bottle feed some of these newest residents together with the chance to meet the chicks and piglets also enjoying fun in the farm area. Take a tractor ride or visit the Paint A Pot studio also during your visit. The attraction is open throughout the school holidays.
