Tickets for Christmas at Bedgebury are now on sale for 2019

Bedgebury's popular Christmas lights event is returning - and tickets are now on sale.

Christmas at Bedgebury was introduced for the first time at the Forestry Commission attraction last year.

The after-dark event showered the forest in a spectacular array of festive themed light installations and displays.

The ticket-only event took visitors along a one-mile path through Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest where the surroundings were drenched in seasonal colour and thousands of twinkling lights.

Following what Bedgebury describe as a 'much-loved' first year, the winter trail is returning for 2019, but the attraction says this year's event will look different thanks to some new Christmas installations to light-up the night sky.

Among them is a Vortex Tunnel which leads onto colour changing ribbons of light, waterside reflections created by hundreds of colourful boats on the lake and flickering flames in a 'fire garden'.

But some firm favourites from last year are also being maintained - including the Tunnel of Light which was made up of thousands of twinkling pea-sized lights and the water fountain finale with jumping jets of light that moved to Christmas music.

And once again, just as in 2018, the entire event will be supported with other festive-themed attractions for visitors including spiced cider, mulled wine and hot chocolate, the chance to toast marshmallows on a fire and some traditional Victorian fairground rides for children (separate charges will apply).

You may even catch a glimpse of Father Christmas and his elves amongst the pines and firs during your visit!
