Believe at Bluewater was initially cancelled due to Kent going into Tier 3 restrictions but the centre, in Greenhithe, confirmed earlier this week the month-long event will now take place and the initial decision to abandon the event had been reversed.

The festive experience opens today (Friday) and will run until Christmas Eve.

Robert Goodman, senior centre director at Bluewater, said: "The refund email issued on Friday was based on advice at the time, however the latest guidance which was confirmed on Sunday means that the event can now take place as planned.

"The safety of guests and staff is of paramount importance to Bluewater, and Covid measures are in place for this event and throughout the centre."

Believe is described as an "immersive festive journey," with magical moments along the way and fun-filled festive twists including a chance to say hello to Santa, albeit Bluewater is keen to stress it is not a 'traditional grotto experience' this year.

Whilst its ice rink, which is outside but with shelter from the elements, also opened this week in The Village and will remain open until January 3.

Promising festive fun for all age groups the rink is offering quiet sessions, parent and toddler slots, and Friday night party nights are also planned for December 11 and 18.
