Bluewater adventure park Hangloose Adventure Centre will open in 2020 after plans were approved by Dartford council

An outdoor activity park is to open at Bluewater next year.

A planning application for a Hangloose Adventure Centre, to be built next to the Greenhithe shopping centre, has now been given the green light by Dartford council.

It will see multiple activities, including a zip wire, gravity swing, skytrek obstacle course, rock climbing and a skydiving machine come to the north Kent cliffs next year.

Further details in the application form also show an 'adventure platform' that would see people freefall onto an airbag, or they can choose to go down a giant slide.

But the proposed project hasn’t been welcomed by some of Bluewater's neighbours - with nearby residents sending nearly 100 letters of objections since the plans were first announced.

The Hangloose Adventure Centre will join other indoor and outdoor attractions including the complex's cinema, Gravity Trampoline Park, Pirate Cove Adventure Golf and Dinotropolis soft play.

Bluewater spokesman Holly Blake said: "As Europe’s leading shopping and leisure destination we’re always looking for new opportunities to enhance our offering to guests.

"Hangloose is one of the UK’s most loved family attractions and we look forward to welcoming them next year."

Work on the new site is only to be carried out, say planners, between 8am to 7pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturdays.

The centre will 'be the first of its kind' in the South East, with a similar project currently operating in Cornwall.
