Anyone wishing to visit will need to book online, including those who already have tickets or annual passes.

Details on how to be book will be released next Monday (June 22) but all new tickets purchased, says Leeds Castle, will receive an additional three months on them extending a 12 month entry to 15 months. There is no extension available for existing pass holders who purchased tickets prior to lockdown.

The offer, to say thank you for everyone's patience as the castle negotiates a path out of the closure that has been in place since March, will remain in place until the end of December but is subject to review. Click here to learn more.

The historic attraction is following in the footsteps of Hever Castle and National Trust properties in Kent in reopening outside spaces to enable families to enjoy a change of scene in a safe and socially distanced way.

English Heritage also hopes to reopen both Dover Castle and Walmer Castle and Gardens to pre-booked visitors from next month.

In a statement on its website, Leeds Castle said it would unveil next week the exact safety measures being put in place and what visitors can expect from their day out.

Whilst the grounds and Princess Alexandra Gardens will reopen, the castle itself, its attractions, shops, restaurants and Culpeper Garden and Lady Baillie Garden however will remain closed until further notice the statement goes on to say.

The castle's popular summer concert, which would have been held next month, has also been postponed until next year.
