Tales will be told around a campfire this summer at a top Kent historical attraction.

The Canterbury Tales has launched a new weekly programme of twilight storytelling events.

Embracing the city's ancient storytelling traditions The Campfire Tales programme will see audiences gather around a crackling campfire in the Medieval Story Garden behind the attraction where a storyteller will recount tales by the fireside.

Stories will be told every Thursday evening until August 30 from 7pm.

Lyndsay Ridley, general manager, said: “Telling stories is at the very heart of what we do at The Canterbury Tales and we’re really excited to welcome new audiences into the attraction to experience Chaucer in a very different way. The wonderful thing about these performances is that they thrive on audience interaction.

"The storytellers will respond to each audience and adapt to their ideas and suggestions – so no two tales will ever be the same!”
