Take your toddlers for a walk on the wild side in their wellies thanks to a new event being launched at a Kent wild animal park.

Howletts is offering puddle splashing and muddy adventures with a programme of guided welly walks on weekdays throughout March.

The activity is included in the entry price of the park.

Welly walks will take place at Howletts during the week

The guided walks are set to take place twice a day at 10.30am and 1.30pm and will include animal spotting with one of Howlett's expert park rangers who will share some fascinating animal facts.

Kevan Hodges, from Howletts said: "The early spring weather is looking changeable throughout March, but as we all know, even when it’s raining, there’s still adventures to be enjoyed. The wild weekday welly walks, will be included in the price of day entry tickets, so grab your brollies, wellies and wet weather gear and get exploring."

Visitors wishing to take part in the Wild Welly Walks will need to pre-register online, via the park’s website.

Depending on puddle and mud locations, routes may vary but walkers and toddlers could catch glimpses of rhino rolling in the puddles, elephants including calf, Nusu, enjoying a rain shower and red river hogs wallowing in glorious mud.

And alongside all the animal magic will be an exploration of Animals of the Ice Age - to marvel at the mighty mammoth, stare at the sabre toothed Smilodon and gasp at the sheer size of the giant sloth, as they explore the wooded paths to come face to face with life sized, prehistoric creatures from a land once frozen in time.
