A Kent pantomime is to raise the lights and lower the noise as part of a special performance for those with additional needs.

Sittingbourne's The Wizard of Oz is performed at the Swallows Leisure Centre for 10 days in the run up to Christmas.

Chris Rankin, best known for his role as Percy Weasley, is in The Wizard of Oz

As part of the run a 'relaxed performance' has been organised for Friday, December 20.

This year's show stars Harry Potter actor Chris Rankin who played Percy Weasley and EastEnders actress Melissa Suffield.

The special performance on December 20 at 2pm will see lower sound levels, raised lighting, no strobe lighting and mean that attendees are able to leave and sit in the foyer and re-enter the performance if they wish to.

The pantomime will have refreshments to purchase but ticket holders are also able to bring in any particular snacks and drinks if required.

Swale Community Leisure says it hopes this particular performance will accommodate those with additional needs or anyone who may benefit from a more relaxed environment and enable them to enjoy some traditional Christmas fun with their friends and families.

Tickets are priced at £10.50 per person and available to book now by calling the box office on 01795 420420 or visiting the website www.sittingbournepanto.co.uk to book online.
