We're heading towards the half way point of the school summer break!

If you're running out of steam or suggestions of some things to do take a look below.
We've pick out some events taking place over the coming week which we think the kids might like...

Family events at Westwood Cross until Monday

Alice in Wonderland themed activities, Westwood Cross, Thanet

Running until Monday, August 12

There are just a few days left to enjoy croquet with the Queen of Hearts or hat making with the Mad Hatter in a magical event which can be found at the bottom of a rabbit hole this summer.

Families who leap into 'Westwoodland' could find fun and adventure just like Alice - but the final day of activities is on Monday (August 12). Learn more here.

Take the kids to Folk Week in Broadstairs

Broadstairs Folk Week

Running until August 16

The annual folk week began on Saturday with a packed line up of performances, workshops, craft fair, parades and activities. Folk Week is running throughout the week across the town and inside a number of different venues. Alongside performances is lots for families to do, you can find a complete run down of events here.

Meet the alpacas

Alpaca Meet and Greet, Kenwart Trust, Yalding

Tuesday, August 13

Come and say hello to the Kenward alpacas, guinea pigs and goats and enjoy some craft activities during the school holidays. The event takes place between 11.30am and 2.30pm but booking is essential. You’ll get to meet, feed and take photos – all the while learning about these unique and gentle creatures. And don't forget to visit the children’s play area and woodland walk during your visit! To take part is £5 per child including a drink and alpaca cookie. More details here.

Summer events at the dockyard

Summer at the Dockyard, The Historic Dockyard Chatham

Celebrate summer at this popular Kent attraction which is also offering a fantastic Kids for a Quid offer until September 1!

A huge beach has been brought to the dockyard for the summer complete with beach huts, deck chairs and plenty of sand. And don't fret if you forget your bucket and spade - as they're available with any kids meal in the restaurant. Alongside all of the Dockyard's regular attractions, the beach will be jam packed with nostalgia of British seaside holidays whilst the RNLI will be talking to children about ways to keep safe near water.

School holiday favourites Doc and Bunsen will be up on the Mezzanine Pier with their interactive ‘Science of Superheroes’ show too. All the latest details, including on the £1 offer, here.

Teens might like a trip to the Love Island villa

If you've older teens to keep company during the summer break a trip to the Love Island villa could score you some brownie points!

The iconic set for the ITV show is coming to the Greenhithe centre. Visitors can snap a selfie in the beach hut or sit around the fire pit in the 'ultimate Love Island experience' which is running until Sunday, August 25. It is in The Village, outside Pizza Express and cost £5.50 to book in advance or £7 on the day. Ticket details here.

Jamie Raven presents Making Magic, Bluewater

Until Sunday, September 8

The magician who shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent also has a special spot at Bluewater this summer. A custom built 250-seat performance space is hosting daily shows and there's also a magic school you can join to learn more about his super tricks!

Visit the ferret roadshow at Kent Life

The Ferret Roadshow, Kent Life, Maidstone

Monday, August 12 until Friday, August 16

Everything you need to know about ferrets will be at next week's Ferret Roadshow at Kent Life - you may even get the chance to join in with the Ferret Fun Run!

Shows in the Big Top run three times a day and are included within the cost of your Kent Life ticket. Families can also visit the farm animals, enjoy indoor and outdoor play areas, tuck in at the tearooms and wander through the Vintage Village.

Paw Patrol at Spa Valley Railway (14840835)

Meet PAW Patrol at the Spa Valley Railway, Tunbridge Wells

Thursday, August 15

Marshall from PAW patrol will be at the Spa Valley Railway on Thursday meeting and greeting passengers at Groombridge Station.

Fans will be able to say hello on trains arriving from Tunbridge Wells West at various intervals throughout the day. Standard train fares apply but there is no additional cost to see the characters from PAW Patrol.

Sam and Mark

Sam and Mark, Hazlitt Theatre Maidstone

Thursday, August 15

Comedy duo Sam and Mark will bring their On The Road show to Maidstone on Thursday. Promising to be jam-packed with sketches, jokes, games and laughter the unmissable show from the double BAFTA award winning duo is set to be fun for all the family. And with just one show at the theatre - at 2pm - tickets are set to be in high demand. More details here.

There's some eco-friendly fun in Tunbridge Wells

English Country Garden, Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells

Until Monday, August 26

The enchanting country garden themed experience is blooming at Royal Victoria Place until the end of the month. Featuring larger than life creatures, storytelling adventures, and the chance to learn all about nature - all events are free and running daily. There are also special events every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am, noon, 2pm and 3pm.
