Bridgefield Park opens in Ashford with adventure play area and community orchard

A new park, complete with Iron Age-themed adventure play area, has opened in East Kent.

Bridgefield Park and Play Area in Kingsnorth, Ashford also has a community orchard and conservation area.

The play area features a large tower with two zip wires, a slide, a variety of swings and play tractors.

There is also a unique willow tunnel which is a freestanding passageway made from wood and sticks and the park caters for disabled children as play equipment installed - including the seesaw and roundabout - are wheelchair friendly.

New walking and cycling paths have also been built into the new park's design.

Bridgefield Park, off Herdwick Close, is the first park and play area of its kind to be commissioned in the borough for 20 years.

It was offocially opened to families on Saturday (June 30).
