Families are being invited to a farm's popular lambing weekend which will coincide with its official unveiling to the public.

The lambing weekend at New Line Learning Academy, Maidstone, is always well attended but this year the event is particularly special as it marks the official opening of the new school farm.

There has been a working farm on the site at Boughton Lane in Loose for more than 35 years and was previously home to Oldborough Manor School before the academy was built.

The new farm, which is run by the Young Farmers Club, will be closer to the academy after it outgrew its original dated buildings.

It boasts two modern classrooms, an office, toilets, a small barn, paddocks and a horticultural teaching area.

Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children. Pregnant women are advised not to attend and dogs are not allowed.
