A huge indoor inflatable park will open in Kent in 2020.

The 6,000 sq ft arena, boasting seven-metre slides and climbing walls, is set to be up-and-running in Canterbury in January, creating 20 new jobs.

A number of obstacles are there to tackle

Based on the Canterbury Academy secondary school site, the bouncy attraction will be the second venture for northern company Inflate N Play.

Bosses say that as well as having fun on the inflatable, visitors will benefit from a healthy workout as they tackle the variety of obstacles.

Open for all ages, the centre revolves around a science theme with Professor Bounce being the company's mascot.

Paul Bolus, one of the firm's four directors, said: "This is our second site in the UK with a further 15 planned over the next 12 months.

"There is a limited number of attractions within the Canterbury area - in fact, this will be the first inflatable arena of this kind in Kent."

The bounce arena opens in January

Due to being set up in a school sports hall, the arena will be open at the weekends and during holidays, but deflated during the week.

The original Inflate N Play opened in Blackpool this April and has proved to be a successful business venture for the team.

The large Canterbury site will boast slides, a slime pit and magnet mountain.

Another company director, Jeavon Trend, is urging adults to unleash their inner child and have a bounce at the Canterbury arena.

"It's not just open to children - it's for everyone," he said.

The huge inflatable will be up and running in the new year

"We do a load of parties and charity events which are popular.

"It's just one massive inflatable - there aren't lots of different bits, it's an all-in-one inflatable which we can easily put up and bring down."

The soon-to-be opening of Inflate N Play comes a month after Canterbury welcomed its first indoor rock climbing centre, Chimera, on the Wincheap Industrial Estate.
