A cross-county pumpkin hunt is being organised by a children's hospice and families are being encouraged to get tickets to their nearest half term event now.

The Halloween Pumpkin Hunt is being organised by Demelza Hospice Care for Children on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26.

Events are taking place in Kent in Gravesend, Sevenoaks, West Malling and Whitstable. There are also others in Greenwich, Chislehurst and Hastings.

Children can collect treats along the way

In each chosen town pumpkins will be on display with various retailers and at local landmarks and children will be required to hunt for them while picking up treats from shops and businesses along the way.

Fancy dress is encouraged and the best Halloween costume in each location will win a prize before the winners from each town are judged against each other for the chance to win a Merlin attractions family pass.

Take part in the Halloween Pumpkin Hunt

The Halloween Pumpkin Hunt takes about an hour to complete and is open to children aged three to 11.

Those taking part are given a Pumpkin Passport to get stamped and can collect treats at stops along the route.

Tamsyn Clark, Demelza’s director of fundraising and marketing, said: “This is a lovely family event - which we promise will not be scary at all. It will be lots of family fun.

This is a safe way to take your children trick or treating, with less tricks and more treats. Plus the event will raise much needed funds for Demelza.”

The Halloween Pumpkin Hunt costs £5 per child and grown-ups can go along for free.
