Easter events in Kent for April 2021 including National Trust Easter hunts and Dover Castle's Easter Quest

Are you on the lookout for some fun, socially-distanced, outdoor Easter themed events to do with the kids this weekend in Kent?

We've rounded up all the bunny, egg and nature hunts happening across the county to help you find one near you:

There are a number of events taking place in Kent this Easter

The Big Faversham Easter Egg Hunt

Join in with The Big Faversham Easter Egg Hunt 2021 on Saturday, April 3. Open to everyone, the trail starts at Faversham Baptist Church in St Mary’s Road where you will be given your clue sheets. Then hunt for the clues in shop windows across the town. The trail will take about 45 minutes to complete, and there will also be an app version which takes a slightly longer route around the town.

The hunt is suitable for all ages, and there are prizes for everyone say organiserse. Anyone taking part, for a suggested charitable donation of £1, is asked to only follow the trail in groups permitted by coronavirus restrctions. More details here.

Take the kids outside for some Easter themed fun

Outdoor family fun at Brogdale

Enjoy the beautiful blossom trees at Brogdale in Faversham and take part in the Easter trail to hunt clues, solve a puzzle and win an egg.

Families can take part in a trail throughout the orchards where they can explore their surroundings and hunt down Easter eggs hidden among the flowering fruit trees. Follow the trail map to find all the Easter Eggs and solve the missing word quiz.

The event is taking place between April 2 and April 4 but tickets must be booked in advance. Ticket prices are £6 for adults (£5 concessions); £3 for children (under 3s free) and £15 for a family ticket (two adults and two children). Learn more here.

English Heritage Easter Quest

English Heritage has reopened more of its sites since lockdown restrictions were eased on March 29 and is organising some small Easter quest events to celebrate.

Amongst the Kent sites to reopen is Dover Castle, which has remained closed during lockdown, whilst Walmer Castle and Gardens is now extending its opening times to now include both weekends and weekdays.

Easter Adventure Quest at Dover Castle us running until April 18. If families can crack the clues and search for the dragon eggs on quest boards as you explore the outdoor trail through the castle grounds, those who track down the hatched dragon will be rewarded. Easter Adventures at Betteshanger Park

The country park near Deal is suggesting families walk off their 'lockdown blues' with an Easter adventure full of activities, fun, chocolate and perhaps even a sighting of Peter Rabbit!

Running every day from April 2 until April 18 the event is £10 per child with two adults able to take part for free with every child ticket. There will be chocolate and Easter eggs for children as part of the event so booking is recommended. Buy your tickets here.

Children's Easter Bunny Hunt at Great Comp Gardens

The gardens near Sevenoaks is open for Easter activities from April 2 until Sunday, April 18. Children are invited to find all the bunnies around the seven acre garden and receive a free chocolate prize.

Standard garden admission fee applies which are £8.50 for adults and £3 for children aged six to 17. There is no entry fee to join the bunny hunt.

Visitors do not need to pre-book to visit the gardens and do not need to pre-book to take part in the Easter Bunny Hunt. To learn more about the gardens click here.

Leeds Castle's trail will take you across the estate

Easter Trail at Leeds Castle

The Easter event at Leeds Castle is including in the price of admission tickets and will take visitors across the estate looking for clues in order to solve a puzzle. As well as the Easter activity running until April 18, the takeaway kiosks and children's play areas are also open at the Castle.

National Trust Easter Trails in Kent

National Trust properties in Kent are hosting nature-themed trails through their gardens and grounds this Easter.

At Chartwell families can get to know the area's local wildlife, at Emmett's Garden you'll be tasked with spotting egg shaped objects, Igthtam Mote is asking vistors to spot and record signs of spring, Scotney Castle is looking at seasonal flowers whilst the egg trail at Sissinghurst will encourage participants to search 'far and wide'.

All National Trust tickets for both non-members and members must be booked in advance and visitors are required to arrive within their allocated time slot.

Take the Easter trail at Hever Castle

Easter Family Fun at Hever Castle

A garden Easter trail is available between April 2 and April 18 at Hever Castle. Follow clues to find a variety of 'things that hatch' as you walk through the grounds and learn a little bit more about each creature that starts life as an egg before you find them hiding in the gardens.

Families are asked to please print off the Easter trail map, available online, before visiting and organisers say there will be no Easter eggs to collect as prizes this year because of coronavirus. To learn more about the Easter event click here.
