A popular Kent attraction is offering discounted entry to local residents.

The Canterbury Tales is running the special offer for those living at addresses with postcodes beginning CT1, CT2, CT3 or CT4.

Running for the length of January, visitors living within these postcode areas will pay just £5 for a ticket to The Canterbury Tales.

Standard adult ticket prices are usually £10.95 and £8.95 for a child, while a family ticket for two adults and two children ordinarily costing £32.50 is currently just £20.

To claim the discount, residents must present a valid proof of address (such as a driving licence or a utility bill) at the attraction’s ticket desk when they arrive.

The discounted tickets cannot be brought online and are not valid in conjunction with any other offer.

Lyndsay Ridley, general manager of The Canterbury Tales said: “We are delighted to offer this fantastic discount to our community. We have been at the heart of tourism in Canterbury for 30 years now but I’m sure there are many local people who still haven’t been to the attraction.

"We hope this special offer will encourage people from across our area to come and experience The Canterbury Tales for themselves!”

The Canterbury Tales discount for residents runs until the end of January

The Canterbury Tales is dedicated to celebrating the works of Geoffrey Chaucer and during the 40 minute experience, through a combination of live interaction and audio guides, guests are regaled by five very different tales of true love, scheming and spine-chilling trickery as each of Chaucer’s colourful characters competes to win the title of best storyteller.
