Tickets to one of Kent's most popular Christmas events are now on sale.

There may still be more than eight months until the festive season rolls around again, and we've yet to enjoy both spring and summer, but Christmas at Bedgebury 2021 is now available to book.

Cathedral of Light at Bedgebury. The event has become hugely popular since it launched in Kent.

The general sale of tickets began on Wednesday morning (March 17) but sales to members and those with priority booking was available a little earlier.

This year's festive lights trail through the picturesque forest near Goudhurst is scheduled to open on Friday, November 19 and run on select dates until New Years Eve, December 31.

Each year the trees and forest is adorned in spectacular Christmas lights displays to create an illuminated walking trail for families.

The attraction has become a major event in Kent's Christmas calendar and this year could be no different with some dates, including Christmas Eve, already showing lower availability for tickets as families snap up passes to the event.

Last year's event did open with strict covid restrictions in place, but was forced to close earlier than planned alongside many other grottos and Christmas attractions when Tier 4 restrictions were bought in for Kent amid a steep rise in coronavirus cases.

This year's event will open on November 19

Organisers say they will continue to monitor the coronavirus pandemic and respond as the situation evolves but current plans to ensure the event is covid secure include managing visitor flow throughout the route, reducing the numbers of tickets available for each time slot and maintaining a 'cashless' service to avoid money handling.

Catering services, which in ordinary years have provided refreshments and hot food for visitors are also currently under review until the situation nearer the time is more clear. You can read more about the event's Covid19 safety precautions here.
