Napoleonic Battle at Hole Park Gardens is cancelled this weekend because of coronavirus

One of the biggest battle re-enactment events for Kent due to take place this weekend has been cancelled.

The Napoleonic Association of Great Britain was set to recreate the experiences of soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars during a major event at Hole Park Gardens this Saturday and Sunday (September 26 and 27).

Battles, troops on horseback, real cannon fire, and living history encampments were all due to be part of the event in Rolvenden.

There was also set to be demonstrations of cavalry arms skills, artillery displays and parades across the two days from participants all in full period costume.

The event is extremely popular with families, with admission prices just £8 for adults and £1 for children.

But with restrictions around coronavirus having been tightened, organisers have taken the decision to postpone this year's battle until 2021.
