IMAX cinema opening date for The Odeon in Chatham Dockside

The opening date of an IMAX cinema planned for a shopping complex has been revealed.
Customers will be able to enjoy the 122-seat facility at The Odeon in Chatham Dockside from Monday, September 2.
The cinema will screen the latest films in 3D and 2D and will feature handmade reclining seats with retractable tray tables and triple the normal legroom.
Last month, a planning application was submitted for the cinema to get an illuminated IMAX sign installed.
IMAX cinemas promise bigger screens, greater resolution and state-of-the-art sound.
The new screen will measure 8m tall and 15m wide – approximately the height of four double decker buses.
The closest IMAX cinema is in Bluewater but there are also plans to open one in Ashford.
