The eight-times World Champion, who scooped Team GB's first gold medal at this year's Olympics, will be visiting 10 locations around the country including the sports centre in Strood to offer one day courses "where you learn to race, not just swim".

It will be the second time Adam has run one of his clinics in the Medway Towns. He was last at Strood Sports Centre to teach in August 2019.

During that clinic he said he'd like to see a youngster he has mentored go on to challenge his records, adding: "It'd be great to continue that legacy until I retire and then having one of these kids as the next World Champion or Olympic Champion."

He said of the sessions: "We're serious when we get to work, but around the edges they should be smiling and they are smiling and learning. It's about engaging the kids to think differently about sport."

Adam retained his Olympic title for 100 metre breaststroke on what has been dubbed Magic Monday, beating Arno Kamminga of the Netherlands with a time of 57.37 seconds.

Ahead of the race, Medway Council tweeted: "Wishing @adam_peaty all the best for the final of the 100m breaststroke @Tokyo2020. We’ll be routing for you and can’t wait to have you back in Medway next month for your @APRaceClinics."

He will be at Strood Sports Centre again on Saturday, August 28. The course will be open to children aged eight to 17 and cost £219.
