A Shed Load Of Toys appeal with kmfm and Skinners Sheds

Could you help transform Christmas for a child in Kent who you don't know?

If so, you've just over a week left to get involved, before our Christmas campaign A Shed Load Of Toys closes.

Our sister radio station kmfm is now nearing the final week of its Christmas appeal to transform the festive season for youngsters in need in the county.

With the help of Kent firm Skinners Sheds, toy collections have been taking place across the county in shopping centres with our Street Teams and at Skinners Sheds donation points.

The final collections with the kmfm Street Teams take place this weekend in Medway.

Between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, December 1 staff will be at the Dockside Outlet in Chatham collecting donations.

And on Sunday (December 2) they will move to the Pentagon Shopping Centre where it is hoped Christmas shoppers will be able to buy an additional toy for a child in need and drop it off.

And it's not just individual shoppers who have offered their support. Kent based toy firm Bigjigs Toys sent an entire pallet of gifts to the appeal.

Who are the toys for?

Toys will be going to children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds and those living in poverty, those unable to claim benefits or who can't work and low income families where even paying for food and heating is a struggle never mind finding the funds for Christmas presents or treats.

There will also be gifts collected for children's wards in some of the county's hospitals where children face surgery, frequent outpatient appointments or lengthy stays in hospital and for social services teams where children have had to be brought into care.

Where else can donations be left?

If you're unable to leave a donation with the teams in Medway this weekend, the Skinners Sheds donation points will remain open until the following Friday.

But all toys must be dropped off by Friday, December 7 to ensure they can then be distributed to the right children in time for Christmas.
