kmfm and Skinners Sheds launch A Shed Load Of Toys Kent Christmas appeal

Make a big difference to a child's Christmas by buying a present for a little one desperately in need of some festive magic.

Our sister radio station kmfm is once again teaming up with Kent firm Skinners Sheds for a Christmas toy appeal.

The mission - with your help - is to put a smile on the faces of hundreds of children in the county who are set to miss out on some festive cheer in December.

A Shed Load Of Toys is desperately seeking shoppers who can purchase and donate a new toy for a child in need, living in Kent, they don't know.

Who are the toys for?

The toys will be going to children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds and those living in poverty, those unable to claim benefits or who can't work and low income families where even paying for food and heating is a struggle never mind finding the funds for Christmas presents or treats.

There will also be gifts collected for children's wards in some of the county's hospitals where children face surgery, frequent outpatient appointments or lengthy stays in hospital and for social services teams where children have had to be brought into care.

And support in helping us distribute the presents we collect is coming from the experts in their field with Canterbury Hospital, Medway Hospital, QEQM Hospital, social services, children's brain tumour charity Clowns In The Sky and Homestart, which visit and support families at home who suffer with isolation, mental health issues, physical health difficulties and general day to day struggles of bringing up a young family, all helping to ensure the gifts you donate reach the right children ahead of Christmas Day.

Where can toys be donated?

Donating that special toy to a child in need could not be easier.

Our kmfm Street Teams will be at shopping centres across Kent collecting toys between now and Sunday, December 2 and if you cannot catch them, there are Skinners Sheds at various locations in Kent where toys can be dropped off - before Friday, December 7 please!

Please do not wrap the toys, so that we can make sure they are matched with a child of an appropriate age. We are also unable to accept second hand toys or those which contain sweets/chocolate or any other confectionery.

Catch up with the Street Team or take your gift to a Skinners Shed here...

A Shed Load Of Toys is not the only KM Group campaign you can join this year. We're also looking for nominees in order to Make Someone's Christmas.

We need you to tell us of deserving people - children or adults - who deserve an extra treat this year.

Whoever it is and for whatever the reason, the campaign needs to be told who they are, why they're deserving and how we can treat them this Christmas.
