Kent Children’s Awards extends closing date for entries to Friday, May 17
A little girl who saved her diabetic mum’s life and a charity supporting people with disabilities and long-term health conditions are among the previous Children’s Award winners.
And to ensure that this year’s event collects the very best nominations from all corners of our county - the closing date to capture final entries has been extended.
The Kent-wide Children’s Awards aim to showcase the bravery of a unique group of children, along with their families and the outstanding charities and fundraisers which support them.
Judges, who are currently sifting through a raft of nominations collected over the last two months since the event launched, have taken the decision to extend the closing date by just one week in order to gather important final submissions.
There are six categories welcoming nominations.
Our judging panel is seeking stories of determined teens, children overcoming obstacles, those who have shown exceptional bravery in the face of an emergency and babies and toddlers beating overwhelming odds to thrive.
Accolades for a ‘courageous family’ and a brilliant Kent-based charity are also up for grabs.
What’s more – finalists will enjoy a fantastic gala lunch later this year with celebrity appearances and entertainment for all the family.

The initial closing date for this year’s awards was Friday, May 10 - but this has now been pushed back by just seven days to Friday, May 17, after which we won’t be able to accept any more nominations.
