Registration for the Kent Test and the Medway Test now open

Registration is now open for both the Kent Test and Medway Test.

Parents who may wish to apply for a year seven place at a Kent or Medway grammar school must register their child for the assessment, also often known as the 11 Plus.

The examination is designed to assess whether a grammar school place may be a suitable option for a year six child looking to move to secondary school next year.

Both the Kent Test and Medway Tests are held in September once children have returned to the classroom for the new school year and their final year of primary school.

Registration for the Kent Test opened on Monday (June 3) and closes on July 3 for children due to start secondary school in September 2020.

Medway Council has also now opened registration for parents wishing for their child to sit the Medway Test for a place at a Medway grammar school.

This closes at 5pm on Monday, July 1.

Families are able to register their child for both tests if they wish to consider a grammar school in a different authority to the one that they live in or if they live close to grammar schools in either area.

To learn more about the process or to register your child for the Kent Test please visit the KCC secondary schools admission website here.

For families keen for their child to attend a Medway grammar school, please register your interest for the Medway test here.
