Reading Eggs reading programme offers free 30-day access to parents

An award-winning online reading programme is offering parents 30-days of free access as home learning for children is set to continue in the coming weeks.

Reading Eggs, designed for children aged two to 13, helps budding bookworms build essential reading skills.

With home schooling expected to continue past the February half term, the popular reading app has opened up access to its programme for a month.

It joins a number of other companies trying to support families spending extended time indoors due to lockdown - last week popular pre school class Baby Ballet launched free ballet lessons for all under sixes.

The Reading Eggs School Shutdown Support offer is there to give parents some additional help, say those behind the programme, and ensure children continue to enjoy fun resources whilst they are away from the classroom.

The programme, also used by more than 16,000 primary schools, covers five components of reading with tasks involving phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension and fluency.

Aligned with the National Curriculum the programme is currently used by more than 10million children worldwide, with more than 90% of parents reporting a noticeable improvement in their child's ability within weeks.

Alongside the free month offer there is also a 20% discount on yearly subscriptions now £47.95 down from £69.90 with the all-access pass also giving access to Reading Eggs; Reading Eggs Junior; Reading Eggspress; Fast Phonics; and access to Mathseeds, which teaches children aged three to nine core maths and problem-solving skills.
