Budding young performers are being invited to sparkle and shine at auditions for Nativity The Musical.

The show, which has enjoyed numerous successful runs in the West End, is coming to The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury at the end of November and the production is looking for children to join the cast.

Nativity The Musical tells the story of St Bernadette’s School’s attempts to retell the traditional Christmas story and is based on the hit 2009 British film.

Boys and girls are now required to play the pupils of Oakmoor School - rivals to St Bernadette’s - on stage at The Marlowe Theatre when it takes to the stage from Wednesday, November 13 until Sunday, November 17.

Casting Directors Keston & Keston are seeking children who will be aged between nine and 12 on September 1. They must be no taller than 4ft 7in (140cm) and need to live within a one-hour commute of The Marlowe Theatre and be able to perform on all dates.

Debbie Isitt, creator and director of Nativity! said the children should also be “characterful but disciplined, with strong singing, acting and dance skills and a passion for performing”.

Canterbury auditions are taking place during half term, on Thursday, May 30 but initial applications should be made through Keston & Keston by clicking here.
