Have your children got creative over lockdown and would now like the opportunity to do more art and design?

Art classes and art lessons are being launched in Kent for creative youngsters aged seven to 17.

Art classes in Kent are being run as part of a new venture called Future Creatives

University of the Arts London is launching a project called Future Creatives both online and through face-to-face lessons in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

The aim is to bring 'high quality' art and design courses to creative pupils from both primary and secondary schools.

Future Creatives will offer art and design classes after school, on Saturdays and during the school holidays. Some of the first classes in Kent are set to begin in April.

Organisers say the classes will provide "a creative environment with small, engaging groups" and alongside huge opportunities to be creative the classes will also help with mental well being and the development of other skills.

Classses will be divided into primary lessons for those aged seven to 11 and secondary lessons for teens aged 11 to 17.

Students will learn from UAL qualified teachers under the venture with the experienced industry professionals able to provide fun and engaging lessons in everything from cartooning and sculpture to graphics and screen printing.

Students will be guided and taught by qualified tutors

A spokesman for the project said: "We believe that young people should have access to an inspirational creative education and have the opportunity to explore their artistic ambitions.

"This is why we are bringing Future Creatives to young people across the UK, to fill the gap in high-quality structured art and design education and help pave the way for the next generation of professional creatives."
