A Kent tapas restaurant is opening during the day with a cafe service designed solely with young families in mind.
The Clock House in Tonbridge has launched a new enterprise to provide parents with a warm and welcoming place to catch up with friends, enjoy a coffee and something to eat while their children play.
The Clock House Baby Cafe in Barden Road will open Monday to Friday from 10am until 2pm.
It is the brainchild of The Clock House owners Polly and Daniel Ward, who as parents to Bobby, age two, and Chester, six weeks, saw the need for such a family-friendly concept in the town.
Polly said: “From my own personal experiences, I know that sometimes trying to grab a coffee in town can be a little stressful with young children in tow.
"Whether its struggling to navigate and park your buggy between tables, self-conscious when your little one starts to grizzle, uncomfortable about breast feeding, or simply trying to keep your toddler sat still as to not disturb other patrons.
"For that reason, Dan and I have launched The Clock House Baby Café – a place where parents, grandparents and carers can enjoy a great cup of coffee and slice of cake but also enjoy an environment especially catered for young families."
The family say they have a huge amount of space within the restaurant meaning that there is plenty of room to park a buggy and let little ones play.
There is a special matted area for youngsters together with toys and games as well as child-friendly snacks and packed lunches on sale for them.
While for the adults The Clock House has fresh cakes delivered daily alongside hot drinks and what it describes as an 'extensive' lunch time menu.
