The Kent and East Sussex Railway, Tenterden, to launch the UK’s first gaming train with TechZone for May half term
A Kent attraction has partnered with a tech-entertainment company to create a one-of-a-kind gaming experience.
The Kent and East Sussex Railway, which take visitors on steam train journeys between Tenterden and Bodiam, has teamed up with TechZone, who specialise in creating cutting-edge gaming experiences and parties, to launch the UK’s first ‘gaming train’.
A carriage aboard one of the railway’s trains has been converted and now boasts multiple TV screens, the latest games consoles and racing simulators.
The experience, which will open to the public during the May half-term, features Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 consoles along with a selection of popular video games.
There will also be an immersive racing experience that simulates speeding around the track with real Fanatec steering wheels and pedals.
Parents who are taking their kids along for the ride but don’t fancy having a go themselves will have a dedicated zone aboard the train where they can relax and take in views of the countryside away from the gaming experience.
The gaming area will be fully monitored by TechZone staff members who are experienced in hosting gaming parties for children and teenagers.
Tickets cost £49.50 for one gamer, plus an adult companion. You can book tickets here.
Your ticket includes a 50-minute gaming session aboard a steam train service from Tenterden to Bodiam and a return journey. The train rides will be operating from Monday, May 26 to Friday, May 30.
