Pride in Medway Awards 2026 nominations now open to honour local heroes
An awards scheme is back with nine categories giving people the chance to put forward everyday heroes of all ages, groups and organisations.
The Pride in Medway Awards, now in their 24th year, recognise unsung heroes for acts of courage, kindness and community spirit.
Nominations can be made for individuals, schools, groups and businesses across nine categories, including Community Impact, Inspiring Youth, School Community, Environment, and Volunteer of the Year.
The awards are organised by Kent communications agency, Pillory Barn in partnership with the KM Media Group and supported by sponsors.
The 2025 overall winner was Paul Dennington, who raised more than £80,000 for Prostate Cancer UK while living with terminal cancer.
Other winners included Aaron Kempster, recognised for community impact through sports coaching, and Theresa Kassim, who was named ‘Volunteer of the Year’ for her work as a STEM ambassador.
Nominations close in January, with a gala ceremony planned for April when the winners will be revealed.

Organisers say the awards showcase “extraordinary groups and individuals making a difference” and encourage anyone who knows someone worthy to come forward”.
