New water slide opens at aqua park at St Andrew's Lakes in Halling
A new slide billed as the “perfect blend of fun and adrenaline” has opened at one of the county’s most popular waterside leisure venues.
St Andrew's Lakes in Halling, near Strood, has added the new attraction to its inflatable aqua park – which is the biggest in the county.
The new slide, La Jefa, was built as the partner to fan-favourite El Jefe.
Instead of sending you flying through the air, the towering centre piece lets thrill-seekers launch across the water on a wide, high-speed slide.
Bosses at the site say it is the “perfect blend of fun and adrenaline”.
Tickets for the aqua park are £25 per person for a 50-minute session, and family packages and discounts are also available.
The minimum age at the main aqua park is six, and all sessions include buoyancy aids, on-duty lifeguards, and a safety briefing.
St Andrew’s Lakes is nestled in the countryside and was transformed from a quarry into a blue lake reserve with a range of water and land-based activities.
It’s billed as a “retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life” in a setting that “seamlessly combines breathtaking nature with the thrill of adventure”.
Operations director Stuart Bishop said: “La Jefa is the perfect next step for our Aqua Park.
“Guests already loved El Jefe, but we wanted to bring something new, something a bit different – and something just as fun.
“We can’t wait to see families and friends tackle it this summer.”
Earlier this year, St Andrew’s Lakes opened a “unique adrenaline-filled” zip-line above its lake.
There's also a raft of other activities available at the site, including kayaking, diving, paddle-boarding, canoeing, open water swimming, and sailing.
