Hever Castle’s Christmas activities for 2025 to include Wizard of Oz-themed walkthrough and outdoor light trail
One of the county’s top attractions is transporting visitors to the Emerald City for a wicked adventure this Christmas.
Hever Castle, near Edenbridge, is transforming into the Land of Oz for the festive season, complete with glittering lights, playful characters and interactive moments.
Guests begin their journey at Dorothy’s house in Kansas before being whisked along the yellow brick road and arriving in the vibrant Oz.
Along the way, you will meet familiar faces, including the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and the Wicked Witch, and step inside scenes from the story, such as Munchkin Land and the Emerald City.
The immersive walkthrough, inspired by L. Frank Baum’s 20th-century novel, is just one of the seasonal activities coming to the historic attraction this winter.
The castle, which is known for being the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, will also be putting on its dazzling Christmas light trail once again.
The after-dark trail brings the gardens and grounds to life, illuminating landmarks with projections, art installations and music from 4pm.
Inside the castle, the rooms will be decorated with twinkling lights, towering trees and log fires, and the Tudor-inspired Boleyn Apartment adds a historical touch to the festivities.
There will also be a family trail where children can meet Mother Christmas, Father Christmas and the elves and receive a present to take home. This is part of the Santa’s Grotto experience and must be booked separately.
Christmas at Hever Castle opens on Friday, November 21 and runs until Friday, January 2. You can book online here.
Ticket prices vary depending on the date and time of your visit. Off-peak prices start at £24.50 for adults and £16 for children.
