SEN-friendly night to be included as part of Christmas light trail at Port Lympne, Hythe
A new festive event coming to a Kent attraction will include a dedicated SEN night as part of this year’s immersive experience.
The spectacular light trail, Port Lympne Illuminated, has announced an inclusive and accessible night for guests with sensory needs.
The trail, which will take place at Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve, Kent’s biggest wildlife park in Hythe, will host the SEN-friendly event in December.
The adjustments will include lower music volume and reduced flashing lights to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for neurodivergent guests and those with additional sensory sensitivities.
It’s all part of the festive trail, which will see 13 colourful art installations dotted around the park’s woodland walks and pathways.
There will also be an enchanting fairy disco, vintage-style funfair and festive food and drink available to purchase on-site.
Port Lympne Illuminated opens on Friday, November 28 and will run until Saturday, January 3. You can book tickets here.
The SEN-friendly night takes place on Monday, December 1.
Tickets to the trail also include entry to the park, which is home to more than 900 rare and endangered animals, from 2pm on the day.
Visitors can also upgrade to the Nightlights package, which includes an overnight stay in one of Port Lympne’s unique accommodations, as well as full access to the 600-acre reserve and tickets to the Illuminated trail.
