The Kent farms taking part in Open Farm Sunday 2025
Show your kids how food is grown, harvested, packaged and brought to their plates with a fun, educational visit to a local farm.
Open Farm Sunday, which falls on Sunday, June 8, is an annual event that connects farmers and those who work in the county’s agricultural landscape with the public. It gives visitors a chance to learn more about how to look after farms for future generations and what it really means to live and work with livestock.
If you want to join in the fun, here are the Kent farms that are opening their doors this Sunday…
BROCKHILL FARM, Saltwood
This farm, attached to Brockhill Park School, helps teach students how to care for animals and be part of the agricultural industry. Visitors can meet the cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, goats, and the farm’s newest arrivals, donkeys. There will also be workshops, wool crafts, and children’s games.
Details: Open from 1pm to 4pm at Brockhill Farm in Saltwood, near Hythe. Free entry.
CHANDLER AND DUNN, Ash
Soak up the summer atmosphere with a visit to a family-run farm that has been part of the local community since the early 1800s. The open day will give visitors a chance to fully immerse themselves in farm life with tractor trailer rides, self-guided orchard walks and a butcher’s shop.
Details: Open from 10am to 2pm at Chandler and Dunn in Lower Goldstone, Ash, near Canterbury. Free entry.
FROGHOLT FARM, Folkestone
One of the farm’s fields will be transformed into an open day for families who want to see more than 500 Romney ewes, rare Toggenburg goats and alpacas roaming the Kent countryside. There will also be traditional farm activities, such as sheep shearing, a local craft market and food and drink stalls.
Details: Open from 10am to 3pm at Frogholt Farm in Folkestone. Entry costs £5 for adults and £2 for children.
PARK FARM, Westerham
Meet the farmers and find out how they milk the cows, work the machinery and care for the livestock on this dairy and arable farm. Visitors can see Jersey cows and calves, watch the milking demonstrations, browse pop-up farm shops, tuck into a BBQ and ice cream, play tug of war, compete in the bale rolling and and take in the views with a hot air balloon trip.
