Gravesend talent network GTown Talents to host second major event Kent Flow Festival featuring Scorcher, Kak Hatt and Wiley

A new grime and rap festival is coming to a riverside town this summer.
Music talent agency, G-Town Talents are looking to host their second-ever major music event at Gravesend’s Promenade.
The event, which will cater exclusively to rap, R&B and grime music, promises an “electrifying” line-up of both mainstream and up and coming artists.
It will take place in Gordon Place, between 12pm to 8pm on August 30, subject to licensing.
As well as live music, there will be stalls, food vendors, bar provisions and a second stage for up and coming artists.
Among those set to perform is Tayó Grant Jarrett, better known as Scorcher, an English grime MC and MOBO winner. Apart from his music career he has also ventured into acting, starring in the acclaimed drama Top Boy.
He will perform alongside up and coming artist Kak Hatt who gained public attention with his ‘Fire In The Booth’ freestyle on TikTok.
They will be joined by fellow headliner and controversial artist Wiley.
The rapper, known as the "Godfather of Grime", was appointed MBE for his services to music in 2017.
But he was stripped of his accolade last year after it emerged he had posted anti-Semitic comments on social media.
Tickets cost £20 and the event is for over 15’s only. More details and the full list of artists performing can be found on the GTown Talents website here.
G-Town Talents is a not-for-profit arts and music youth community organisation dedicated to supporting young people.
They won accolades during the pandemic for their work breaking down barriers and raising awareness of taboo subjects by giving young people a creative outlet through music and film.
The pressures of social media, use of drugs and dysfunctional family backgrounds are just some of the issues identified in their videos.
Founder of the talent network, Jimmy Babalola said: “Kent Flow Festival hopes to attract anyone from any background.
“We hope to celebrate the up and coming talent and start something unique for the Kent community.”
